Salama decided more than eight years ago to include courses in the performing and visual arts.

The primary reasons for this inclusion are:

•    The arts encourage creativity,
•    The arts broaden and give a world view to our thought processes,
•    Create a sense of leadership and teamwork,
•    Increase standardized test scores,
•    Insure the ability to research and discover facts around subject materials,
•    Sharpen the ability to critically process information and assist in making choices,
•    Develop healthy self image,
•    Encourage students to explore different cultures and environments
