Salama decided several years ago to include courses in the performing and visual arts.

The primary reasons for this inclusion are:

•    The arts offer enjoyment and a sense of achievement
•    The arts encourage creativity.
•    The arts broaden and give a world view to our thought processes.
•    The creation of a sense of leadership and teamwork.
•    Increase standardized test scores.
•    Insure the ability to research and discover facts around subject materials.
•    Sharpen the ability to critically process information and make choices.
•    The development of  healthy self image.
•    To encourage students to explore different cultures and environments.
